Campsite 3.0.0 RC1 Released: Testers Wanted
The road to Campsite 3.0 gets a little bit shorter now that the Campsite team has released its RC1 for testing.
News from Campware Website
This release candidate is feature complete, although there are some
known bugs related to lists and subtitle behavior.
We're eager to get testing done on this release, so go and install your RC1 release today! Click here
to go to our SourceForge page. Campsite 3.0.0 RC1 should run on any
operating system that runs PHP and MySQL, including Linux, Windows,
Macs and BSD variants. And if it doesn't, we need bug reports!
The current 'to-do' list for the 3.0 release includes:
- Update the sample packages
- Implement the lists start index for lists limited in length
- Finish the test cases
- Update the context class to allow plugins to add new attributes
- Write the manual
Unlike the 2.2-2.7 versions, Campsite 3.0 does not support multiple instances anymore. This means that for each instance you want to run you have to install Campsite in a new virtual host.
The install process is much simpler and the dependencies are much fewer: we removed the C++ code so every dependency related to it vanished. No more compiling :)
The APC (Alternative PHP Cache) dependency was removed in the beta2 version for Windows testers.
We're looking forward to getting user feedback, so please get involved in the Campsite community. Check the Campsite support forum or join our mailing list for more info.
