This maintenance release includes important new features and improvements that will improve your Bricolage experience both behind the scenes and in direct use. Some of the highlights include:

JS Quicktags WYSIWYG editor.

Greg Heo integrated JS Quicktags for easy insertion of HTML tags into a content area either at the cursor, or around a selection.

Internal Information-handling Improvements

The logic that handles category display, related media display and finding related objects has been improved to produce more intuitive results. Search results have also been improved by fixing the caching of searches that produce errors.

Workflow Improvements

The Slug field is no longer required if the bricolage.conf directives ALLOW_SLUGLESS_NONFIXED and AUTOGENERATE_SLUG are disabled and enabled, respectively. Also, when the ENABLE_CATEGORY_BROWSER bricolage.conf directive is enabled (it is enabled by default), categories can be deleted immediately on Save or Check In when the delete checkbox is set. This is an improvement over the previous method of requiring the explicit Delete button press.

SOAP Improvements

The SOAP interface has been improved by including some pre-checks for data sanity before saving to the database (saving a potential error generated by database constraints), patched to play nicely with LWP 5.810 and later, and corrected for a bug that had the published_version of templates deployed via SOAP set incorrectly.

More Under-the-hood Improvements

There are many more changes in Bricolage 1.10.5; For a complete list, see the changelog. For the complete history of ongoing changes in Bricolage, see Bric::Changes
